The community that is in my mind most (don’t tell my family..) is Terra Movie Club.
I wake up checking the Discord and see what Ok-nim holders have been up to; what movies they been watching, what project they follow, if some of our insomniac members gone to sleep finally.
I’m also excited for any introductions our members write for themselves (we have engineers, book and movie lovers, golfer, fisher, sheep chaser.. it could be just me..but I think our community is the most interesting bunch.)
As NFT projects, we say the word ‘community’ all the time.
‘Community is important, we have to grow with community…’
We all know that community is essential to our success or simply OUR EXISTENCES. But sometimes amongst shills and promotions we forget the why and what of it.
Fundamentally, community is in the center of all we do because at this stage of the technology, we are not just creating new venture, business model; instead
We are creating culture. We are creating economy. We are creating value.
Fiat money, in it’s broadest sense, is a currency that isn’t backed by commodity.
Throughout history the only way a fiat money can BE is by being declared of its value by a state as a legal tender (fiat means ‘let it be’ in Latin). There was no other way for something that doesn’t have inherent value can be transacted in a fungible way without the authority of a state behind. Well.. until crypto.
But even in crypto, even with the smartest smart contract,
we need people to acknowledge its value and use as real stuff of transaction
(or maybe because IT IS crypto, instead of force and order by government), .
i.e. We still need (and will always need) social contract as well as smart contract.
Especially in Terra, where people work for the transformative power of crypto to operate in the ‘real world’, this value of community (people who see the same value) is illuminated to full degree.
That’s why I am excited and happy to be, and grow with Terra Movie Club
and in the broader sense with Terra community.
For me, the growth of community means we believe in the shared future and that we are working together to make it come true. And that’s why I feel that we are making change in a most profound way possible.
All our project, our on-going LunaToon contest, our tutorials and our watchparty are all for our community to get stronger and bigger.
Watchparty be might sound like pure entertainment but belive me, it has world-changing meaning.
