…of course!

In addition to regular Screena collab watchparties (this week with @tradooors and continuing collaboration with Nowhere artists community 🥳)

Screena is starting something special for next week…

NFT LIVE with Screena and Lottery

‘NFT LIVE with Screena will be a fun live broadcast event for the community with a virtual host and a Screena’s NFT, Ok-nim.

In NFT LIVE, Ok-nim will explore a new exciting NFT project with the audience in real-time and at the end of the show announce the community lottery winners with prizes including an NFT and UST.

The live show will be available through the invite link on the Screena Discord channel and hosted through Screena’s watchparty solution.

The lottery ticket will be available for purchase on Screena Discord with TMC activity points which can be collected by participating in watch parties or discord activities. The ticket sale will be closed 90 minutes before the live broadcast.

NFT LIVE with Screena is designed for Screena members as an exciting new live event exploring NFT projects with a chance to go home with an NFT at the end of the show.

Fun and Game AND healthy economy

Screena likes fun and game. We like watching movies and chatting with our community (who we think is the most interesting group of people out there…)

But for us, nothing is ever just fun and game. Because if you care for a sustainable and healthy community, your priority is very much on establishing a sustainable and healthy economy.

And as an enthusiastic participant of the web 3.0 community. Valuing users’ participation and contribution to a sustainable economy is something Screena takes very seriously.

Vision for Watch2Earn economy

One of the reasons we are here is that we want to change how web 2 platforms have treated users’ data.

In the current web 2 information economy, platforms very much recognize the value of users’ data for their service or product but create a ‘free’ economic structure so users are encouraged to use their service for ‘free’ by giving their information ‘free’.

This creates a distorted information economy where the source material for value creation i.e. information itself is not priced at all. As a result, we now have a shadowy and exploitative economy around people’s data.

And we think that one of the biggest advantages of web 3 is the ability and willingness to acknowledge that behind data there are people and their participation, which improve the product and service; therefore, could and should be compensated.

For example, ‘watch’ doesn’t just mean a closed-loop activity where the user’s participation doesn’t make any contribution. By watching, people’s participation can help improve the software or the platform system or help curate content with their participation or help create an attractive community that is valuable to belong to.

Ultimately, Screena wants to implement an economy where user contribution is fairly compensated and reinvested.

Implementing Screena’s Watch2Earn economy

So the lottery, in a way is part of our effort to introduce a sustainable economy and establish a functioning watch2earn economy reflecting this vision.

Screena Discord members when they participate in community activities like collab watch parties and daily discussions can earn points within our server.

This point system is introduced to fine-tune Screena’s Watch2Earn economy before introducing its own token and to reward the early hodlers with their support and patience.

And with NFT LIVE with Screena, we are introducing the spending feature in the point economy which will be the guiding example when Screena introduces a token.
